Recommandations :
1) Don't proceed with the manual installation (detailed below) unless you have the Sentinel dongle or unless lpreditor has not yet been installed on the target machine.
2)Unless you have the Sentinel dongle, you cannot install the new version of the engine directly. A previous version needs to be installed first. If it is not the case, you have to download it from our website

Step 1 : Downloading

Follow this link to download the archive : 2010 version downloading

then unzip it anywhere.

Step 2 : Finding the installation folder of LPReditor

The installation folder of LPReditor is specified in the registry. Open regedit to read HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LPReditor\TargetDirLPReditor: "..."

Step 3 : Making a safe copy of the installation folder of LPReditor

Find the installation (application) folder of LPReditor (see below, for example \\Program Files\\LPReditor) and make a safe copy of it (for instance rename it \\Program Files\\LPReditor_old).
Keep the copy : it can be restored at any time doing the reverse.

Step 4 : Making a copy of the LPReditor registry key

Warning : Don't proceed with the following unless you have a Sentinel dongle installed on your machine. the LPReditor registry key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LPReditor. Use whatever device to make a safe copy of it. For instance you can use Regedit, the Registry Editor from Microsoft : 1) Open Registry Editor.
2) Select the key that you want to save as a file.
3) On the File menu, click Export.
4) In the Export Registry File dialog box, in Save in, click the drive, folder, or network computer and folder where you want to save the hive.
5) In File name, enter a name for the hive.
6) In Save as type, click Registry Hive Files.
7) Click Save.

Step 5 : Uninstalling LPReditor from the Control Panel

Warning : Don't proceed with the following unless you have a Sentinel dongle installed on your machine. Enter the Window's Control Panel CLICK Start / Control Panel, or if in classic view, CLICK Start / Settings / Control Panel Once you click on the control panel, double click 'Add or Remove Programs.' Find if the "LPReditor dll & demo" program is present. You can see that the top icon, 'change or remove programs' is selected. Scroll through the list until you find it. Uninstall it Once the program is uninstalled you'll see it has been removed from the list.

Step 6 : Restoring the registry

Using the copy made at step 4, restore the registry exactly like it was before the uninstallation. If you have some trouble with the registry, you can check manually each entry of the LPReditor registry key

Step 7 : Restoring the LPReditor folder

In order to restore the LPReditor folder do the reverse of step 3.

Step 8 : Removing the neural nets files

In the installation (application) folder of LPReditor , remove all the files with the extensions *.net and *.mst.

Step 9 : Copying the new neural nets files

Copy all the files with the extensions *.net and *.mst from the archive.
Paste them in the installation (application) folder of LPReditor.

Step 10 : Deleting the clusters folder

In the installation (application) folder of LPReditor, Delete the subfolder named "clusters".

Step 11 : Copying the new clusters

Copy the subfolder called "clusters" from the archive.
Paste it in the installation (application) folder of LPReditor.

Step 12 : Copying the rejections folder

Copy the subfolder called "rejections" from the archive.
Paste it in the installation (application) folder of LPReditor.

Step 13 : Finding the engine dlls and making a safe copy

The engine dlls and your application usually are in the same folder.
If the LPReditor.dll (main dll of the engine) file is not in your application folder it must be in the the windows\system32\ folder.
Make a safe copy of the engines dlls (compare with the dlls of the archive). Keep the copy : it can be restored at any time doing the reverse.

Step 14 : Copying the new dlls

Copy all the dlls from the archive.
Paste them in the installation (application) folder of LPReditor. If the system asks replace (and erase) the old dlls with the new ones. Important if the engine dlls used by your application are elsewhere (typically in your aplplication/executable folder or in the windows\system32\ folder) you must paste and copy the new dlls there.
