The downloadable demo is not country independant ?

Reason 1

The demo is designed to recognise French license plates.

Reason 2

The OCR is trained with 90% French licenses plates.

Reason 3

The Syntax Checker allows mainly syntaxic rules of French license plates.

What is wrong in using the French Syntax Checker ?

In some case, the syntax checker will force the output of the LPReditor engine (level 1) to be a French registration even if this output was exact.

But the LPReditor engine (level 1) is country independant.

Updating the LPReditor engine (level 1)

The 2009 version of the LPReditor engine (level 1) gives better results . So make sure you are using this version.

Tuning your application ?

Is it possible to test the engine with another application ?

Yes. The LPReditor engine (level 1) is provided with samples code. Basically these samples shows how to integrate the LPReditor engine (level 1) dll in your application. So you can use your application or you can use these samples directly to test.

Do the samples use the same OCR of the French demo ?

Yes. If you need another OCR then you can apply to our internationalization improvement program.

Do the samples use the Syntax Checker ?

No. Most samples don’t use any Syntax Checker.

Is it possible to test the syntax checker ?

If you are qualified for the our internationalization improvement program , you will be provided with the syntax checker for your country.
